I’m excited to announce that I’m working with Prints On Wood, we just released four new paintings as prints: Ghost Dawn, Blue Swan, Hate You and Pussy Gives a Hoot, which all look amazing on wood!

I am honored to be featured with Shepard Fairy, Jeff Soto, Lola, and Lou Pimentel for this exciting project.

Printing artwork on wood transforms the original piece in some really cool ways. The unique imperfections of the grain and random knots in the wood add great depth and character to any piece. The natural wood grain shows through on lighter colors giving some prints a subtle vintage feel. Prints with darker colors take on a more dramatic tone with heavy contrast between the artwork and the organic wood canvas.

The Epic Battle

The Epic Battle took place during the month of February 2012, this painting is acrylic on wood 24″x30″ and will be on display and available for purchase in June at Thinkspace in LA, during my two person show with Sarah Joncas. I can’t take all the credit for this one, it was the brainchild of my pixel ninja Sully, apparently great ideas are his specialty. This painting was a fantastic opportunity for me to branch out and paint something new, I’ve always wanted to paint my own dragon, with all the scales and teeth and fur…..super fun. As for the unicorn, it came straight for the heart and my childhood, what little girl growing up in the 70′s didn’t love unicorns and rainbows? This is a classic tale of the underdog, and our underdog seems to have rainbow magic on his side.

New print “Escape” available at Spoke Art Gallery

I’ve teamed up with Ken Harman from Hi-Fructose and Spoke Art Gallery in San Francisco and we are just about to release a new print run. My latest painting Dream Escape was recently unveiled at Spacejunk Gallery in Lyon, France and we decided it is worthy of a print run here in the states. This new print “Escape” is 18″x 24″ limited edition of 100 on heavy archival paper and will be on sale through Spoke Art starting Feb 24th, 2012.

I just got back from an inspiring few days in CO where I was invited to paint live at the Rossignol booth at the SnowSports Industries American, SIA. We were promoting my new snowboard the Diva 2013,

and also raised money for POW, ( http://protectourwinters.org) Protect Our Winters who’s mission is to unite and actively engage the global snow sports community to lead the fight against climate change.

If you were the highest bidder you just got an incredible deal on an original piece of art and you also donated to a great cause, thank you and thanks to everyone for bidding on my custom hand painted Skatedeck. Thanks to Rossignol for a matching donation!

A couple of years after graduating from Belmont High, Shire opened The Soap Plant where he sold hand-crafted soaps, unusual trinkets, and imported figurines from Mexico, thereby popularizing the art and culture of that country’s Day of the Dead festivals. Shire gained notoriety in 1973 when he won a design competition sponsored by Levi Strauss & Company. Shire’s gallery La Luz de Jesus, is one of the most important ground-breaking galleries in Los Angeles and has garnered a considerable reputation with collectors, galleries, and artists around the world.
